추석맞아 수초이의 SSG 카탈로그 탈출

수초이의 친구들이 SSG청담동과 해운대 매장에 걸립니다.

추석맞이 BI관련  EMBLEM 작업과 업계에서 흔치 않은 캐릭터로 뺀 행잉사인.

사이즈부터 중요도까지 꽤 큰 작업인데 마감이 심하게 짧아 진정 말도 안되게 집중해서

메달려야 했다.

하지만 그만큼 클라이언트도 작업자인 수초이도 양자 모두 해피한 결과물이 나온 듯!  사실 ,올해들어 열심히 작업한 작업마다 하나같이 더딘 진행이나 출판으로 맥이 빠지던 차, 간만에 신이 나는 뉴스. 또 하나의 수확은 역시 아트 디렉팅의 룸이 가미된 일이 맞는다는 걸 알게 해준 일. 프로답게 날카로운 지적이나 의도들을 짧은 마감안에 감정섞지 않고 핑퐁하는 긴장감.다소 쎈 요구들을 서로 받아들일 줄 아는 클라이언트와 작업은 진행 중은 하긴 힘들어도 끝내고나면 짜릿하단 점.그렇게 찐하게 한 작업은 끝나도 정이 쌓인다.

Here's quiet big project i've been working on recently. 

it was so nice to work on something more than ordered illustration which is challenging.

the BI EMBLEM is hanged in the food market located in BUSAN & CHOENGDAM  IN SEOUL.

i worked the SSG catalog for more than an year and had bigger job with this client for this Thanks giving day in Korea. the deadline was absolutely crazy considering the work i had to finish and the quality the client wanted it to be. however, well... yes i just checked the clients are happy how it ended up finally! Brilliant~! i can't wait to check it!! heres i will leave you with photos i've just recieved from them!!

SSG MARKET MAP

This is the map for my consistency client SSG market. It has been more than a year i worked with 

this premium luxurious grocery in the middle of Gangnam (; as psy sing.) Having a long term client is such a learning curve for the freelance. Specially for the 1year anniversary i worke for this map and they absolutely loved it!. I also can't complain how it turns up finally. 

어느새 일년 차 맡아온 일. 정신차려보니 점점 더 많은 부분을 해볼수 있게 된 SSG 마켓일러스트. 음식 지겨웠는데 지도라 신났고 그림이 잘 뽑혀 그린 나도 클라이언트도 매우 해피.

SOO'S LITTLE KNOWN CENTRAL LONDON

The 3rd reportage introducing little known spots in London on the Korean magazine Bar & Dining.

화려한 네온사인의 두 중식점 사이에 "셜록"이 들렸을 법한 간판없는 작은 쪽문 앞 이태리계 남자가 서있다. 이십분째 같은자리를 스마트폰을 들고 뱅뱅 돌고 있는 나에게 보다 못해 먼저 말을 건 이가 한말이 "여기가 아마 네가 찾는 곳인것 같다 였다." 좁은 카펫 계단을 따라 올라가니 칵테일 바가 3층에 걸쳐 이어진다. 차이나타운의 한복판에 100% business -trendy 백인손님, 여자는 거의 80% 금발이다. 천장에 거울이 있어 아치형의 창문과 바가 비춰 이색적이다. 클럽이라고 하지만 모두 앉아서 야심차다고 평해지는 밥값보다 비싼 셀수 없이 다양한 칵테일을 연신 비우고 있다. 전형적이지 않고 술에 조예가 깊고 이색적인 칵테일 데이트를 염두에 둔다면 정말 가볼만한 곳이다.

It has been already an year i started to work for this client.
Premium Grocery mart SSG had 1 year anniversary this July.
for this month i was in charge of sketch all staffs and the map for
the food hall.

노팅힐 페스티벌은 집시와 자마이칸 흑인의 두 소외계급의 축제이다.
8월말 일정이 맞다면, 스노비시한 웨스트런던를 떠들썩하게 지배하는
화려하고 스모키한 2일 천하를 맛볼 수 있다.
유럽을 여행중이고 일정이 용이하다면 페스티벌 하나정도는 일정에 끼어도 좋을 것이다.

BnD Soo's Little known London issue2- West london

Here's volume2 of SOO'S London articles on Bar & Dining magazine.
this issue has slightly academic attitude discovering food & design hot spots.
Rather than going for the tourist spots straight away , i wanted readers to get 
alternative rythme of life. You will find the way to enjoy foods & teas with bits of 
historic and artistic approach. This series of work helped me to achieve seeing things 
properly whilst delivering better information. yummy work!

바앤다이닝 잡지에 연재중인 수의 리틀노운 런던 기사의 웨스트 런던편이 
나왔습니다. 쵸콜릿하나, 티타임 레스토랑 각 꼭지마다 디자인적인 역사,
디자이너 기후 역사적인 배경을 한줄씩이라도 더 현지에서 전달하려고 노력했어요.
덕분인지 편집자는 이번호가 훠얼씬 좋다고 하시네요. 제 양념 일러스트와 글, 사진까지

WGMT; who's got my tail opend!!!

Finally WGMT has opened today. "WGWT;Who's got my tail" is kids and lifestyle design brand. It starts with a kind email said a stylish publisher love my illustration, she is also young working mom with a son. Her boy was 5ish learning alphabet already. She was tired of messy or cold graphic illustration in market. when she asked me to launch a brand together,i didn't consider i could be the right one for kids market. However i aimed to be lifestyle illustration as well like above photos, i am quiet happy for the results and all the philosophy , marketing structure we aimed. visit the page you will see why do we need a bit of sweetness in our own places. It also all printed on eco-friendly papers with soybeanoil-ink for kids and interior purpose.

Soo's Little known London (vol1: EASTLONDON)

Here is front page for the article about Little known (hidden) side of East London. Rather than going for the high streets or tourists spot packed with people and processed food, i am going to introduce  streets with small shops near residential area .This is my very first editorials including writing, photos and illustration. The tone of voices had been edited to be more informative but for now it is very worthwile to check if you are planing to visit London this Summer .On 2013 July;next issue i am introducing WestLondon.

"런던 원고를 다듬으면서는 유난히 서울이 떠올랐다. 마음 속의 빨간 이층 버스가 지나가고 연두색 마을버스가 스쳤다.편했던 너의 차와 위험한 나의 자전거,브리티시 라이브러리와 T동 도서관이 그렇게 하나씩 짝을 지어갔다. 스믈다섯과 서른사이,"멋지다"란 말이 "예쁘다"란 말보다 더 좋았고 내 옷 같았다. 호기심이 향상심이 나를 세상에서 가장 큰 도시로 이끌었고 당장 눈 앞에 닥친 일들을 헤치우러 허둥대다 보니 서른이 넘어있다. 유별난 적응력으로 파란눈에 금발을 한 친구들과 어울려 알아듣지도 못하는 펍퀴즈를 풀며 포트를 홀짝 거리는 동안 속으론 15분이면 한강으로 배달되는 진짜루의 탕수육과 카쓰둘둘한 치맥을 그리워하고 있다."
